Local Active Directory

OptimiDoc Cloud supports importing users from a local Active Directory (AD) environment within the customer’s network. This is achieved through the OptimiDoc Cloud – Active Directory Sync Tool, which handles both the initial import and continuous synchronisation.

The installation of the OptimiDoc Cloud - Active Directory Tool is described in the following section: OptimiDoc Cloud Active Directory Tool

Active Directory Sync Tool Modes

The tool operates in two distinct modes, allowing administrators to choose the most suitable approach for initial setup and ongoing synchronisation:

  1. Windows Forms Application Mode

Used for:

  • Initial configuration of the connection to Active Directory

  • Testing the connection and import configuration

  • Performing the first import of users into OptimiDoc Cloud

The graphical interface simplifies setup and allows administrators to verify that the correct users and attributes will be imported.

  1. Command‑Line Application Mode

Designed for:

  • Automated, periodic synchronisation

  • Integration with Windows Task Scheduler

  • Running without user interaction

This mode is intended for production environments where user accounts must remain continuously synchronised between the local Active Directory and OptimiDoc Cloud.
